How to arrive in Marsala

Do you know how to get to Marsala?

You can get to Marsala by land, water, and air.  The "Vincenzo Florio" airport is located only 14 kilometers away in nearby Birgi, and offers regular daily flights to the main Italian and European cities through various airlines.  The airport is connected by private means of transport (car rental, bus and taxi). Marsala can be reached from the airport, either by way of the S.P. 21 (coastal road of the salt pans) or take the Marsala-Birgi expressway.

The city has a small train station, very close to the center, with trains arriving from Palermo or Trapani from the North, or from the South is Petrosino and Mazara.

Also by land, it is possible to arrive by bus through the Autoservizi Salemi company that connects Marsala with some of the largest cities in Italy including Rome, Florence, Bologna, Parma, Piacenza and Milan.

The Port of Marsala is mostly a tourist and fishing port offering boat docks and where hydrofoils and mini-cruise ships depart for the Egadi Islands.  The ports of either Trapani or Palermo offer access to Marsala by ship; the latter offering more options for routes to and from Italy.

The two main ways to reach Marsala by car are the E90 and continuing onto the A29 towards Marsala, or via the E90 towards Mazara del Vallo and then continue onto the SS115 for Marsala.
