A unique event that combines the excitement of theater and music with the magic of Sicilian nature.
In the heart of Marsala's Stagnone Lagoon, where the sun dips among the Egadi Islands giving some of the most striking sunsets in the world, the review comes to life every summer A Scurata – Cunti e Canti al calar del sole – Memorial Enrico Russo. A unique event that combines the excitement of theater and music with the magic of Sicilian nature.
The stage is located inside one of the ancient basins of the Salina Genna, in a completely eco-sustainable theater, built with tuff ashlars without the use of mortar or chemical materials. The seats, made of recycled wood, welcome the audience into an intimate and evocative atmosphere.
Each show begins at 7 p.m., during sunset, a time when the sky is colored with intense reflections and the Stagnone with the Egadi Islands behind it is transformed into a painting of rare beauty. The experience is multisensory: sounds, words and images blend with the scents of salt and the sea breeze, providing unforgettable emotions.
The review has seen illustrious names from the Italian theater and music scene take turns on stage - from Corrado Tedeschi to Antonella Ruggiero, from Mario Venuti to Amanda Sandrelli, to Peppe Servillo, Eugenio Bennato and many others.
But “A Scurata” is also a space of enhancement for the artistic realities of the area: every year, numerous artists from the province of Trapani find in this scenario the ideal place to perform in front of an increasingly large and passionate audience, also composed of the many tourists who visit the city of Marsala.
Promoted by the Cultural Artistic Movement City of Marsala, the review is the result of the collaboration between some of the most important local theatrical and musical realities. A synergy that has created a winning combination of art, nature and tradition, able to excite and involve spectators of all ages.
