St Thomas of Chanterbury (Mother Church)

The Cathedral of San Tommaso of Canterbury is the most important church in Marsala. It overlooks the Piazza della Repubblica and it is dedicated to Saint Thomas Becket, Archbishop of Canterbury, an English Catholic martyr. Also called, "Matrix in Dialect," the Mother Church of Marsala is in Baroque and Norman style.

Convent of the Carmine

The work almost certainly dates back to the 13th - 14th century by the mendicant orders of Marsala, and then latterly entrusted to the care of the friars from Mount Carmel in Palestine. Subsequently, the structure takes on great importance for the history of Marsala, so much so that one of the four districts of the city was designated: the Annunziata district.

The "Decumano Massimo" (Decumanus Maximus), was the most important street in the city of Marsala dating back to Roman times. It was used until the fourth century after Christ.

Thanks to the archaeological excavations that were carried out on the avenue, Vittorio Veneto, it reopened after about 20 years, and now it is brought back to light.
